Inspired By

Inspired By borrows pieces from some of my favorite artists as inspiration for a series of highly stylized photo collages. Detailed imagery from Los Angeles’ hyper-varied architecture, infrastructure and landscape are carefully arranged—guided by color and geometry, texture and contour—as paint on a canvas to suggest, and hopefully honor, select masterworks.

Like the patchwork city itself, a closer look reveals rich diversity and hidden secrets. This grouping is inspired by Richard Diebenkorn’s Ocean Park series; and even utilizes images of his old cinder-block art studio in Santa Monica, CA.
